MEETING YOUR ACADEMIC ADVISOR

Academic advising is a collaborative process in which the student and advisor work together to set academic goals. It is a continuous process that begins with new student orientation and ends with graduation.

Upon admission, new students are assigned an advisor who functions as a mentor throughout the students’ study at LIBI. The role of the academic advisor is to guide and prepare students for academic and personal success. They also serve as a connection to campus resources. Advisors are equipped to address student’s questions or problems as they pertain to progressing at LIBI.

Students are required to visit their advisor every semester to discuss their classes as well as to register for the upcoming semester. It is recommen- ded students begin to plan their upcoming semester at least one month before the end of the current semester.
