BECOME AN ACCOUNTING PROFESSIONAL

LEARN THE GLOBAL LANGUAGE OF BUSINESS & FINANCE

FROM AN ASSOCIATE DEGREE TO Accountancy CAREER PATHWAY
BECOME A PROFESSIONAL IN THE ACCOUNTING FIELD

Upon completion, you should be able to read and interpret financial statements for business diagnosis and decision-making. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is the accounting standard adopted by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. GAAP is a combination of authoritative standards (set by policy boards) and the commonly accepted ways of recording and reporting accounting information. GAAP improves the clarity of the communication of financial information.

LIBI’s Accounting Program provides a solid background in accounting, general business, and general education. It focuses on equipping graduates for careers upon graduation and also for further study, including preparation for the pursuit of 4-year accounting degrees and certifications. LIBI’s faculty includes highly-seasoned practitioners heavily involved finance and accounting fields in the New York City area.

Assimilation and processing of financial data, recordkeeping, auditing, and reporting are all part of the job of an accounting professional. Accounting touches all aspects of society. Accounting education is required in both the public and private sector, with opportunities for accounting graduates not only in finance, but also in areas ranging from non-profit institutions to small businesses to large companies in all business sectors.
